IFFCY foreign guests visit historical city of Isfahan

Foreign guests of the 30th Int’l Film Festival for Children and Youth (IFFCY) visit historical sites of Isfahan.

Foreign guests at the 30th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (IFFCY) in Isfahan have visited the historical sites of the Iranian city.

The information center of the 30th IFFCY announced the foreign filmmakers taking part at the event walked through the old city of Isfahan.

A Japanese citizen named Jimbo said, “I saw some photos from Iran when I was a little kid. And now I’m so excited to have the chance to see Naqsh-e Jahan square for the first time with my own eyes.” He has been making films for 4 years.

Having an experience of working in a travel agency, Jimbo knows a lot about Iran and Isfahan.

“I had an offer to make a documentary on South Korea. I would be glad if I had the same chance to make a documentary on Isfahan," he added.

A Chinese female visitor on site of Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan said, “We’ve already known that Iranian people are welcoming and generous so we weren’t surprised at all to meet kind Isfahani people.”

The International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults is organized annually by the Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.

It is an event that celebrates films made for children and youth. The festival supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas. It is also an event that serves as a platform for professionals to come together and exchange ideas.

The 30th edition of IFFCY has been slated for June 30 to July 6, 2017 in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
